How to travel with a CPAP

March 17, 2022

RETURN TO MAIN BLOG PAGE

When you are diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea, it can be hard to imagine how you might take a vacation again. All regular PAP machines are cumbersome when it comes to packing a suitcase, especially if you are flying and have to pay for each bag. So, here’s how we at Advanced Homecare recommend travel with a CPAP.

1. Clean your machine.

You will not want to carry cleaning supplies, but you also don’t want to take risks with a machine that is not well kept. If you are going for an extended trip, travel with cleaning wipes.

Contact us to get the price for wipes.

2. Look at the voltages where you are traveling.

Voltage standards vary throughout the world. If you do not research the area first, you might find your machine blows its fuse when you try to turn it on. Make sure you carry an adapter when necessary.

Alternatively, to make life a little easier, you can carry a portable battery for your machine, which will provide over 500 charge cycles. Look into those batteries here: https://advanced-homecare.myshopify.com/products/portable-outlet-cpap-battery

3. Consider a TravelPap machine.

One of our most popular items, the TravelPap machine, is used by our active-duty military when they are deployed. The TravelPap machine weighs only 10oz and is as quiet as a mouse.

You can read more about the TravelPap here: https://advanced-homecare.myshopify.com/products/airmini%E2%84%A2-autoset%E2%84%A2-travel-cpap-machine

These machines are in high demand right now, especially due to the supply/ demand/ shipping issues that our industry faces. If you are expecting to travel any time soon, please reach out to us and put your name down on the waiting list for our TravelPap machines.
